Class Evaluation

One thing I like about this class is that everyday we learn something new that will help us in our everyday life. For example, we have learned to always CTR and to be honest. Another thing we learned was that if you were not honest and did not CTR the CTW scorpion will sting you.  One thing I did not like about this class is that we did not continue to learn how to use the gadgets on Word Document and Blogger. One recommendation for this class is to spend more time on learning the new gadgets on the computer. One highlight for me in this class was when the two college students visited our class. The told us the mistakes they did in high school so we would not repeat them. As a freshman, I took the advice and told myself that will do what they did. Yes, I did do my best in this class. I do my student success statement everyday, bring my CTR card, I bring my life planning goals journal, and I practice on typing tutor. No, I am not writing in my Life Planning Goals journal everyday.

Soccer Player

I wanted to research a soccer player because I like to play soccer. I also researched a soccer player because their is not equality between the women and men's national teams. The US women's national team makes $265,000 compared to the $3 million the US men's national team makes. I think the girls are underestimated. They have a better record than the guys and have more fans, yet they are still paid less. Another reason why I picked a soccer player is because it's a game that when you play you have fun and enjoy it. Also, as said by soccer_life 49 , "One bad game does not define you as a player." There are times when you do not play your best, but you always have to shake it off and make up for your mistakes in the next game. My favorite part of playing soccer is the feeling of scoring a goal. Your whole team runs to you, congratulates you, and gives you a hug. Lastly, as a soccer player you are striving to your best. As Carli Lloyd said. "Don't let

Student Success Statement

"Take responsibility for YOUR OWN body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being."- Mr. C. Haymore I believe this statement is true. You are the person that makes the final decision, no matter the circumstance. You can not let anyone influence you to do the wrong thing. Some people might laugh at you and taunt you, but at the end you know that they are the ones that will be suffering. Also, if you see someone smoking talk to them and let them know the consequences. You can not force them to quit, but at least you have given them knowledge to help them rethink their decision. Their and your success starts with believing in yourself.

Harmful Effects of Smoking

Write specifics how smoking harms you. Smoking can cause damage to your lungs. It can cause diseases such as asthma, pneumonia, emphysema and lung cancer.Smoking can also damage your heart. The damage in your blood circulation can increase your risk of having a heart disease, heart attack, and stroke.   Include data statistics and graphs about smoking’s harmful effects. What percentage of teens smoke? 90% of teens smoke How can you promote Non-Smoking ? One way to promote non- smoking is to have smoke free homes and cars. Also, we can have smoking services, campaigns and marketing strategies. Add Pictures: Challenge:  Write your commitment and promise to never use tobacco products or smoke, ever. I promise to never use tobacco products or to smoke. I promise to always say, "NO!"

Student Success Statement

"Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education."- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I believe that this statement means that intelligence is not the only important thing it is also have good manners and a good attitude. One should always be kind and treat others the right way. For example, if someone comes up to you and says, "Hi" be nice and say hi back. It is not good to ignore them because they might of just wanted to be kind and make new friends. We come to school to become more knowledge able, but only knowledge able from subjects like math and english but to also learn to have good manners. Everyday a school applies rules like, "Treat others the way you want to be treated and pick up after yourself."

Student Success Statement

"We need the courage to START and CONTINUE what we should do, and the courage to STOP what we shouldn't do."- Richard L. Evans I believe this statement is true. If something is right we should work our hardest and continue to do the right thing. If something is wrong we should realize it's wrong and stop. One example of stopping when something is wrong is cheating on a test. It is better to just answer the questions you know instead of risking someone else failing the test. An example of doing the right thing is helping someone out that is injured (ex. someone that is on cruches.)

"When you Tell One Lie, it leads to Another"- Paul Hatch I think this statement by Paul Hatch is true. When you tell one lie you also tell another to cover up your first lie. This pattern of lies continues to grow until someone finds out the true story. The best thing to do in order to avoid this situation is to just tell the truth and admit to what you did wrong. An example of telling a lie is getting your report with low grades and telling your parents you have a 4.0 GPA.
