" Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company." -George Washington


I agree with George Washington's statement. When you associate yourself with good people you start to act like good people. You see what they are doing and it rubs off on you, so you start to do the same. If you associate yourself with bad people you start to act like a bad person. You might get pressured into drinking or smoking. It is not bad to talk to them, but it isn't good to go out with them. It is better to just be on your own than making bad decisions.

"Goodness is the only investment that never fails."- Henry David Thoreau I agree with Thoreau's statement because if you are kind and good you will feel good. I think by investment he means that you should spend your time to be nice, to really show someone you care. The point of being good is to help others and brighten up their day. If you are kind and good you will never fail. You will never fail because you will feel good about the good deed you have done. An example of doing something good is giving out cookies, cupcakes, or roses. You can go to any location, such as a police department to show them that we do recongnize their work.
