Eight great Reasons to Tell the Truth- Barbara A. Lewis

  1. Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There's a less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict
  2. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished
  3. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened
  4. You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying (and getting caught)
  5. Other people trust you more when you tell the truth
  6. You don't have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your story straight
  7. You gain a reputation for being truthful- a trait most people value
  8. Telling the truth helps you to feel secure and peaceful inside

I agree with Barbara's eight reasons. As soon as you tell one lie there can be many consequences. There might not only be consequences for you, but also possibly for others. When someone has discovered that there is a lie they try to figure out who told that lie. No one might know, so random people just start being accused for telling the lie. Also, by telling a lie there will be people that won't trust you like before. If you were to just tell the truth in the first place you probably would have gotten into less trouble. Also, if you tell the truth you won't feel guilty ou lie you can't help but feel guilty.

"Enthusiasm makes the difference"-Dr. Norman Vincent Peale I agree with Dr. Peale because it all depends on how you approach things. When you are excited to try something new you will be glad with the outcome.  When you are sad on trying something new you go with a bad attitude and and don't end up enjoying the experience. I believe this quote is a life lesson. You should always approach things with enthusiasm.

"Kindness  is the essence of greatness."- Joseph B. Wirthlin I believe that Wirthlin's statement is true. When you are kind and caring to an individual you become a great person. One sees you differently when you are kind. They see that you are kind, caring, and respectful person rather than a person that is selfish and only cares about themselves. One example of kindness being an essence of greatness is giving up your seat for someone on the bus. If you see you someone is struggling to carry their items or is having trouble walking or standing you should be kind and offer them your seat. Another example of showing kindness is helping out the less fortunate. If you can afford something they can't like food or clothes be kind and give them some. It doesn't have to be new clothes or bought food it could be used clothes that is in good condition and a home made meal.

Disasters

The event I choose to talk about is the California mudslides.  In January, a massive mudslide occurred killing over 21 people. This all started when the states largest fire occurred, the Thomas fire. The people that lived in the community of Montecito and Santa Barbra were effected by the mudslides. Some lost there home The U.S. forest fire is helping to clean up the mess and possibly get people back to their home The mudslides relate to me and others because some people might know someone or are related to someone that was in the mudslide.
